Yuppies & Puppies

My name’s Jasmine, & this is my double dapple dachshund, Bugatti. :) We both live in the US with my other Dachshund, Oslow.

Dapple Dachshunds have recessive genes for blindness or deafness, so puppies born as “double dapples” (ones who look like this) have a high high risk for blindness, deafness, or both. I’ve even seen them without eyes. One of Bugatti’s eyes is physically smaller than the other and the other’s pupil is misshapen. He is partially blind. I rescued him from his breeder who was “unknowingly” breeding double dapples.

As sad as his story is, you would never know he’s partially blind! He is the happiest puppy around. I love him to absolute death. :) This picture was taken when he was younger. He’s about 8 months old now!
